3 Decades Sustainability Operation of Waste Plastic to Finished Products and the positive impact on Nigeria’s Circular Economy.
RIDA National Plastics engaged in waste plastics recycling and manufacturing in West Africa for over 30 years has one of the largest historic sustainability impact figures of any private sector companies on earth.
RIDA National Plastics single handily carries out Five Waste Plastics Processes of: i) Collection, ii) Sorting, iii) Recycling, iv) Reprocessing and v) Manufacturing waste plastics into finished plastic ware products. Our finished plastics production is sustained by 100% waste plastic supply from landfills, dump sites and other waste streams – supplied by over 3,500 Nigerians engaged in our Plastic Waste ‘Circular Economy’ supply chains.
We recycle over 10,000 tons of waste plastic every year and remanufacture into new quality plastic products such as Basins, Buckets, Bowls, Chairs, Tables and sell these finished plastic products at a proportional sales value that is LOWER than the cost of virgin plastic raw material resin (price weight to cost ratio per kilogram) – meaning we sell our finished plastic products cheaper in weight compared with the equivalent cost of the exact same weight of imported plastic raw material availing fair plastic product pricing to the Nigerian population.
Each year, we produce over 1,500,000 Chairs and over 4,500,000 Basins out of 100% Waste Plastics Pollution. In its history, Rida National Plastics has manufactured over 39 million plastic chairs and over 63 million Basins of various sizes between 100 litres to 25 litre that have enormous positive impacts on the lives of tens of millions of Nigerians towards usage for water storage, for food preparations, cleaning/washing and multiple other uses. Having provided the Nigerian population with our subsidised plastics homeware products for over 5 decades, over 200 million Nigerians have been afforded a better quality of life by our household plastic wares that are life improvement products giving enormous positive impacts on the lives of hundreds of millions of people.
Our 28-year waste plastic to finished plastics sustainable operation generates a net positive contribution to the Nigerian Economy worth over N13.9 billion per year by each linear operational economic impact from dependency on virgin plastic raw materials imports, demonstrating our positive circular economy impact on the Nigerian economy.
In 2024 we paid N5,595,000,000 on Waste Plastic collections.
