Rida National Plastics Limited is one of Nigeria’s oldest and most respected plastic manufacturing companies, established in 1957 as Engineering & Metal Industries Ltd and renamed in 1968. That year, RIDA installed West Africa’s first PVC Floor Tile Plant, launching a half century legacy of PVC production and innovation.
Today, RIDA is recognized as West Africa’s largest broad-spectrum plastics manufacturer, producing a wide array of products – including uPVC water Supply & Waste Pipes, electrical conduit Pipes, Tables, Chairs, Basins, Drums, Buckets, Bowls and more.
With 580 plus employees and over 240,000 square feet of production and warehousing space on nearly 10 acres in Ilupeju Industrial Estate, Lagos, RIDA is strategically positioned for efficient distribution across Nigeria and West Africa.

Over 39 million Plastic Chairs and 64 million Plastic Basins bearing the RIDA name have been sold in Nigeria and neighbouring countries.

COMPANY HISTORY
Established in 1957 as Engineering & Metal Industries Ltd, a change of name to Rida National Plastic Ltd in 1968 coincided with the installation of our first PVC Floor Tile Plant, making us West Africa’s first PVC Floor Tile manufacturer. We are now recognized as the largest broad spectrum plastics manufacturers, with key products across various market sectors such as furniture, a wide range of domestic products, water storage plastic tanks, plastic water pipes, electricity piping and conduits, flooring and various other specialty products. A board of Directors and staff of over 580 personnel run the company.
RIDA BRAND
The RIDA BRAND is well known throughout Nigeria since the 1960’s and synonymous with quality, integrity and strength. As a household name, three entire generations are familiar with our “made in Nigeria” products. Over 20 million of our chairs have been sold all over Nigeria and West Africa. The goodwill associated with the RIDA brand is a solid foundation for the successful entry of our future products.
LOCATION
Situated on the State Highway Ilupeju with easy access to sea and airports as well as the Oshodi transport hub, we are ideally located for distribution to all parts of Lagos, Nationwide and West Africa. Our premises are self-owned and situated on 5 hectares of prime property in Ilupeju Industrial Estate, with over 240,000-ft factory and warehousing built area on 9.96 acres.
CUSTOMER BASE
We have over the last 50 years built up a nationwide distributor’s network covering various market sectors in all the geographical and geopolitical zones in Nigeria. We have also built up a continuous working relationship with many government ministries, universities, churches and corporate institutions. Equally we have distributors in the West African bordering countries and some as far as Senegal and Gabon.
RECYCLING
Rida National Plastics is a pioneer in the plastic recycling field since 1996. We have to date reprocessed over 339,483 tons of degenerated waste plastic material which we have manufactured into general purpose plastics products. Our ‘from waste to consumer‘ production process is a continuum. In this plastic production, we reprocess degenerated waste plastic materials, that we directly sourced from all over the country and regenerate to produce excellent finished National Branded plastics products, thereby becoming a ‘veritable agent’ helping In the global clean environment campaign. We are among the most environmental plastics manufacturing organisations in Africa and possibly with the cleanest carbon footprint of any plastics manufacturing company in the world.

In as much as we are leading plastics manufacturer in West Africa, our vision is to be seen as a good corporate citizen, contributing to the upkeep of its environment in support of the United Nations global campaign for a clean environment. We invest in specialized plastics recycling equipment & machinery to process degenerated waste plastic materials that would otherwise have polluted and littered the environment, in order to produce fine resilient customer plastics products that are a household brand name all over the country and beyond.
